Top 10 Ten items for a 4 Year Old Girl’s Easter Basket

Peter Rabbit is on his way and we have scoured the internet to find items that are creative and fun to fill a 4 year old girls Easter basket. Like most parents, I’d rather fill her Easter basket with activities rather than candy. I stick to three main categories  educational, creative, and outdoor. Below is a top ten list of my favorite Easter basket items for 2018.

  1. Insect Lore Butterfly Growing Kit Toy – Includes Voucher Coupon for 5 Live Caterpillars to Butterflies

This Butterfly Growing Kit is so much fun! We ordered it last year and my daughter enjoyed it from start to finish. She was fascinated by the growing caterpillars. I couldn’t believe how large they became before morphing into their cocoon. We had four out of the five caterpillars survive all the way through to becoming butterflies. What is also great about this kit is that you can order additional caterpillars if you want to do it again. The net cage is also make for a backyard bug catcher.

2. Orange Monarch Wings

What’s a butterfly kit without having your own pair of butterfly wings. Your child will love running around the backyard pretending to be one of the butterflies.

Amazon Review: “My daughter has been wearing these almost daily for a month. They’ve held up nicely to washing and as pajama-wear (she insists on sleeping in them most nights). I love how they don’t have wires and don’t get squished in car seats or during play. They have a bit of sparkle on the white dots on the edges of the wings, making them more attractive. These plus some black clothes and butterfly face paint made a fantastic Halloween costume and will live in our dress-up bin for years!”

3. The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes

Amazon Review: This is absolutely the best Easter Bunny book I have seen. It is about a little girl bunny in the country, who dreams of becoming an Easter Bunny. The story and illustrations are lovely and well-developed. Most of the (non-religious) Easter books out there are pretty simple, and some use illustrations from previous books (like Happy Easter, Mouse!). Not that that is a bad thing, but this is a book I remembered from my childhood, if that tells you anything. It has a “Velveteen Rabbit” character to it that is very charming, and I was so happy to find it for my son. In fact, if you are a mother bunny, and anyone has ever scoffed at your dreams and ambitions because you are “just” a mother, this book may find a place in your heart, too.

4. Ty Bubby Multicolor Bunny Plush, Light Pink/Light Yellow/Light Blue, Medium

My 4 year old daughter is currently obsessed with these TY Beanie Boos and can’t seem to get enough of them so it will be making our Easter basket this year.

Amazon Review: Lovely, cute and a great size!! My girls LOVES it!!! She takes the bunny with everywhere she goes.

5. YAMAZI Kids Polarized Sunglasses Sports Fashion For Boys And Girls Mirrored Lens (Pink&mint Green | Blue Mirrored Lens, Gray)

Their future’s so bright … they gotta have shades. I picked these particular sunglasses because they were flexible and polarized. Not only are these sunglasses stylish but will also protect those little peepers.

6. Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Froggy Toss and Grip Catching Game With 2 Balls

Amazon Review: My four year old LOVES these! They are perfect for his tiny hands. The soft, cushiony balls are easy for him to handle and get a good grip on. The large Velcro pads on the frogs are large enough that he is very successful at catching a toss. These are great for eye/hand coordination!! These will be great to travel with and play at the park or on the beach.

7.  Melissa & Doug My First Sidewalk Chalk Set With Holders – 4 Chalk Sticks and 4 Holders

8.  Toysmith Paint-a-Birdhouse Kit

My daughter LOVES to paint. I think she would paint the entire house if I would let her. This is a creative rainy day project for her that when finished we can hang in the back yard. I can just see her face lighting up when a bird or squirrel sits on her birdhouse.

9.  Wipe Clean Workbook Uppercase Alphabet

My four year old is currently working on her letters and she loves using these trace books. She likes it because she gets to use the ever coveted marker. I like it because after she is done I can wipe it down with a wet rag and she can then use it over and over.

10.  Green Toys Flower Maker Dough Set Activity

My daughter LOVES playdough so I believe making flowers out of playdough will be a homerun.

Amazon Review: This is a great dough play set, offering nice high quality and sturdy tools, great dough (better than the name brand) and easy cleanup.
